Rosemary Cole, is director and professional choreographer of Strictly Ballroom Dance Academy, and also a professional dance teacher and associate of the I.D.T.A. Rosemary Cole has over twenty five years of professional teaching experience, and ensures that the delights of dance education and a very impressive array of professional choreographed Strictly Steps dance courses and Advanced Academy workshops are available for aspiring dance students!
Strictly Ballroom Dance Academy has an established reputation as the best and most successful performing arts Advanced Academy in West Sussex, preparing dance students for regular professional performances and auditions, while being trained by the area's top professional teacher.
Rosemary Cole was trained by her late father Howard Oswald John Davies, from Slough who was a fellow member of the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing. Howard was professionally trained by the famous Miss Eve Tyngate-Smith, (first committee of the ballroom branch of the Imperial Society) where he achieved his professional masters IDMA examination in London in 1947.
Rosemary was 12 years old, when she was part of the winning Slough Junior Modern Ballroom Formation Team, professionally trained by Blanche Ingle and Ken Bateman, competing at the prestigious Tower Ballroom in Blackpool, for the famous BBC television series 'Come Dancing'.
Rosemary has competed in the British Open Competitions at World Class Level, she has also competed in the International Championships at the Royal Albert Hall in London.
Rosemary Cole has professionally taught Modern Ballroom and Latin American dance tuition in adult education classes at Chichester College in Chichester, West Sussex and South Downs College in Havant, Hampshire.
Strictly Ballroom Dance Academy teach well choreographed strictly steps dance classes in Modern Ballroom, Latin American and Salsa to put the absolute beginner, intermediate and advanced academy dance students at ease on the dance floor.
Strictly Ballroom Dance Academy teach the Modern Ballroom dances, the Waltz, Quickstep, American Smooth, Tango first in order to develop basic skills and then with that experience the Slow Foxtrot can be approached from a position of strength. The Salsa, Rumba, Samba, Cha Cha Cha, Jive (American Swing) Argentine Tango and Paso Doble are all taught in the Latin American Strictly Steps dance classes.
